The Adopt Me-ow Charity Campaign
KittenCoin is bringing our next charity campaign across the globe to Chiang Mai of northern Thailand! The city of Chiang Mai is home to multiple small feline colonies. There is a normal range of 30–150 semi-feral cats roaming the streets, markets, farmlands, and temples without a permanent home. Fortunately, Chiang Mai is also home to ‘Adopt Me-ow’, a cat rescue and rehoming center that betters the lives of all local felines in every way possible!
The Chiang Mai community always has food to spare for roaming cats and kittens, but often does not have the resources or capability to provide preventative medications such as core vaccinations, flea & tick control, deworming, and most importantly, birth control. The health and well-being of the homeless cat communities of Thailand is one of many dire focal points of the grassroots charity, Adopt Me-ow!
Adopt Me-ow Does Things A Little Different
Adopt Me-ow orchestrates effective teams of volunteers that visit cat colonies in need of CNVR treatment. CNVR is an acronym for Catch, Neuter, Vaccinate, and Release. These homeless cat colonies are humanely captured, brought to either a private or supporting charity clinic, neutered, vaccinated, and then released with a healthier lease on life.
All of these services are provided to homeless cats through the tireless efforts of the many volunteers at Adopt Me-ow, through the kindness of the local community, and by being almost entirely funded by the founder who has developed and carried on a selfless legacy after being widowed. This is a true to life operation with a raw and real upbringing, and we at KittenCoin are honored to help in any way we can.
We will get into more of the details of the amazing services Adopt Me-ow offers cats and kittens as our charity develops, but I want to hand it off to the man who identified, researched, and has provided all of the material for this global charity connection, one of our very own KittenCoin legends, Unohim!

As a man that lives in the same city and works for a multi-national NGO — I’ve seen Adopt-Meow grow from a lovely, slightly crazy cat-lady trying to help a few kitties without owners to take them to a vet — to what is now — a fully converted house (with a built-in cattery, quarantine area, recovery blocks and 3 separate outdoor enclosures), a small army of volunteers, and a responsive connection with local communities that clearly has a desperate need for medical support and preventative treatments within the city and surrounding areas.
Please consider this as our Part One introduction to Adopt Me-ow and their awesome volunteer crew here in Thailand. I do have a regular job that is keeping me on my toes by day, but I will endeavor to get the scoop on their rehoming numbers and see if I can follow a rescue story or two over the coming couple of weeks!! Next visit will be this weekend….
